Trust and Confidence—A Key Factor 2

Today’s Meditation:

Psalms 34:5 TPT
“Gaze upon Him, join your life with His, and joy will come. Your faces will glisten with glory. You’ll never wear that shame-face again.”

Reflection:
Continuing from the story of Jairus in our previous nugget: Despite the heart-wrenching news that his daughter had died, he maintained his trust and confidence as Jesus came to his home. In the midst of overwhelming despair, Jesus reminded him not to yield to fear but to have faith—that she would live again. Even when circumstances worsened, Jairus’s unwavering belief in God’s power unlocked breakthrough after breakthrough. That is the transformative effect of confidence in God—it causes our faces to glisten with glory as we experience the mighty response of His power in Christ to our prayers.

I also want to share a personal experience from years ago with my father, a devoted missionary. I had just received my university admission after many attempts and had returned from a campus visit to make arrangements for my resumption. A few days before classes began, during a discussion with my dad, he encouraged me to continue praying even though my fees were not yet available , and to prepare to go to campus by God’s grace. Remarkably, a few days later one faithful Sunday evening few hours before my trip, a friend of his visited. After the visit, he called me into his car, mentioned that he had heard I was resuming classes the next day, and—much to my astonishment— he opened his car safe to give me exactly the amount needed to pay for my school fees. My face lit up with joy! This experience remains fresh in my heart till date: that the power of God will always show up, no matter how dire or delayed the circumstances may seem. Just like Jairus and his family, you and your family will have joy and will never wear that long-face again.

Encouragement:
No matter the situation you face today, do not allow circumstances to dictate your mood. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and speak His Word back to Him in prayer. Your joy is coming, and you will never have to wear that shame-face again. Stand firm in your unwavering confidence and trust in God. Remember, the power of God in Christ Jesus is ever-present and will manifest in your life when you lean into it.

Prayer Points:

  1. Heavenly Father, thank You for filling me with Your power and for enabling me to overcome fear through unwavering trust in You.
  2. Lord, help me to continually focus on Your promises and to speak Your Word with bold faith, confident in Your mighty power.
  3. Holy Spirit, fill me with the assurance that, through Christ, I will overcome every challenge and shine with Your glory.
