Something out of Nothing: Activating Creative Power in Christ
Today’s Meditation:
Romans 4:17-18 MSG
[17-18] We call Abraham “father” not because he got God’s attention by living like a saint, but because God made something out of Abraham when he was a nobody. Isn’t that what we’ve always read in Scripture, God saying to Abraham, “I set you up as father of many peoples”? Abraham was first named “father” and then became a father because he dared to trust God to do what only God could do: raise the dead to life, with a word make something out of nothing…
Reflection:
The creative power of God becomes effective in us as new creations when we declare His Word. Just as God chose to rename Abram to Abraham—exalting him as the Father of many nations (Gen. 17:5)—He imparts this same authority to us through faith in Christ Jesus. In our restored state, our words have the power to shape our reality. Remember how Prophet Ezekiel was instructed to speak the Word of God over the valley of dry bones (Ezekiel 37), and by doing so, witnessed the miraculous revival of a great army. This is the same power available to us today.
Encouragement:
One profound aspect of the creative power of God in Christ is found in our words of declaration. As the saying goes, “If you don’t like what you’re getting, then change what you’re doing. It’s up to you.” Changing the words we speak is a critical component to transforming our circumstances—not merely through positive affirmations, but by declaring what God’s Word already says about our situation. Just as Prophet Ezekiel boldly declared life into lifeless bones, you too can exercise this power. You and I can begin this journey today. If you are born of water and the Spirit, then you have access to God’s creative power in Christ. Release this power today and watch as miracles unfold in your life.
Until we meet again, continue to win with Christ Jesus—and stay tuned for the next nugget of insight and inspiration.
Prayer Points:
- Heavenly Father, please help me to cooperate with Your power through my words from this moment forward.
- Father, as I give utterances to Your Word, let something supernatural be created within my life.
