Power Awareness Is Key

Today’s Meditation:
2 Timothy 1:7 AMPC
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.”

Reflection:
For those who have learned that Christ is the power of God, today’s focus is to move from being power naïve to power aware. As 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, “God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but one of power, love, and self-control”. This isn’t reserved for pastors, prophets, or apostles—it’s for every believer who has received the Spirit at salvation and baptism.

I remember when I was a campus student in Eastern Nigeria—a time that taught me a profound lesson in divine power. A Christian sister in our compound suffered a relentless headache all day despite taking medication. Moved by the Spirit, I prayed over a sachet of pure water and instructed her to take it and then step away to a quiet spot. Remarkably, her headache subsided, and she rested peacefully. Years later, I encountered a similar situation with a woman in our congregation who had endured weeks of hemorrhage. At midnight, after following a similar divine instruction, her bleeding stopped completely.

These testimonies are clear reminders that the power of Christ is available to all who believe. It’s not about our titles or worldly credentials; it’s about recognizing and tapping into the divine authority that flows through us. When we truly become aware of this power, we begin to see its manifestation in every aspect of our lives—transforming challenges into triumphs.

Encouragement:
I challenge you today to embrace the reality that Christ is the power of God. Let this awareness fuel your daily walk with Him, knowing that His power is more than enough to overcome any limitation. As you begin to live in this truth, you’ll find that miracles and breakthroughs become a natural part of your journey.

Prayer Points:

  1. Father, thank You for giving me access to limitless power through Christ.
  2. Lord, grant me the grace to walk each day in the awareness of this divine power.
  3. Holy Spirit, let Your power flow through me, enabling me to triumph over every limitation.
