God’s Word Carries His Power
Today’s Meditation:
Ecclesiastes 8:4 (AMPC)
“For the word of a king is authority and power, and who can say to him, What are you doing?”
Have you ever heard the statement, “A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian”? This phrase was coined to emphasize the need to secure God’s power through prayer. From our previous nuggets, we have seen that we can access God’s power through:
- Prayer (Request): As seen in the case of Jairus, the ruler of the synagogue.
- Acts of Faith: As demonstrated by the woman with the twelve-year hemorrhage.
- Asking the Right Questions in Prayer: Positioning ourselves to receive divine answers.
Today, we go deeper—another key way to connect with God’s power is through His Word. In fact, for our prayers to be effective, they must be backed by God’s Word. Just as our meditation for today declares, God assured the prophet Jeremiah:
“Jeremiah 1:12 (MSG) “… I’ll make every word I give you come true.”
Encouragement:
God’s Word is what activates His power in any situation. So, before we pray or while we pray, we must labor to secure His Word concerning the matter. Once we have that Word, we must persist in prayer, just like a woman in labor, until the power of God brings that Word into reality.
Next time, we will explore how to apply this principle practically and commit the power of God to work in our lives.
Until we meet again, continue to win with Christ Jesus!
Prayer Points:
- Father, thank You for Your Word that is becoming flesh in my life.
- Father, help me to partner with Your Spirit to birth Your counsel over my life and affairs.
